1964: The Mets sweep a Labor Day doubleheader with 7-5 and 6-4 wins over the Colt .45s at Shea Stadium.

1970: The Mets sweep a Labor Day doubleheader with 5-4 and 5-1 wins over the Expos at Shea Stadium.

1973: The Mets sweep a doubleheader with 1-0 and 4-2 (in 15 innings) wins over the Expos at Montreal.

1976: Leo Foster hits his only homer as a Met and drives in five runs in the team's 11-0 win over the Cubs at Chicago.

1978: The Mets score nine runs in the first three innings and defeat the Expos, 9-4, at Montreal.

1984: Dwight Gooden pitches a one-hit shutout over the Cubs at Shea Stadium. The Mets win, 10-0.

1986: The Mets sweep a doubleheader with 7-1 and 6-5 wins over the Padres at Shea Stadium. In each game of the twinbill, Stan Jefferson and Dave Magadan get their first major league hits.

1989: Gregg Jefferies hits two doubles and two homers as the Mets defeat the Cardinals, 13-1, at Shea Stadium.

1992: The Mets defeat the Phillies, 6-3, on Labor Day in Philadelphia. The Phils get at least one hit in each of the nine innings, but leave twelve runners on base.

2006: Four Mets pitchers combine for a shutout in a 7-0 win over the Dodgers at Shea Stadium.

2008: The Mets and Phillies split a doubleheader at Shea Stadium. The Phils win the opener, 6-2, and the Mets take the second game, 6-3.

2010: In his major league debut, Dillon Gee allows two hits in seven innings and gets the win as the Mets defeat the Nationals, 4-1, at Washington.

2011: R.A. Dickey and two relievers team up for a five-hitter in a 1-0 Mets win over the Marlins at Florida.

2014: Curtis Granderson and Anthony Recker combine for four RBIs in a 4-3 Mets win over the Reds at Cincinnati.

2015: On Labor Day in Washington, the Mets come from behind for an 8-5 win over the Nationals.
