1962: Joe Christopher hits a pinch-hit, two-run single in the ninth inning in a 4-3 Mets win over the Cardinals at St. Louis.

1963: The Mets and Reds split a doubleheader at the Polo Grounds. The Mets win the first game, 5-3, and Cincinnati takes the second, 1-0.

1972: The Mets score 11 runs in the eighth and ninth innings to come from behind and defeat the Astros, 11-8, at Houston.

1977: The Mets and Braves split a doubleheader at Shea Stadium. In the opener, Pat Zachry hurls a shutout in a 4-0 Mets win. Atlanta takes the nightcap, 3-2.

1978: The Mets and Dodgers split a doubleheader in Los Angeles. The Dodgers win the opener, 3-2, and the Mets take the second game, 5-3.

1979: The Mets end a nine-game losing streak with a 5-4 win over the Astros at Houston.

1984: The Mets defeat the Padres, 3-2, at Shea Stadium. George Foster singles home Mookie Wilson with the winning run in the 12th inning.

1987: The Mets defeat the Padres, 4-3, to complete a three-game series sweep at San Diego. Howard Johnson hits a two-run homer in the seventh inning to put the Mets ahead to stay.

1988: The Mets hit four home runs and Ron Darling pitches a complete game in an 8-0 win over the Dodgers at Shea Stadium.

1990: The Mets complete a four-game series sweep with a 10-6 win over the Giants at Shea Stadium.

1993: Todd Hundley hits a grand slam in the third inning to propel the Mets to an 8-3 win over the Cubs at Wrigley Field.

1998: The Mets hit three home runs for a 4-1 win over the Padres at San Diego.

2004: Rookie David Wright has his first career 2-homer game. He hits his first one off Carl Pavano and the second one off Josias Manzanillo.

2008: The Mets defeat the Brewers, 6-5, in 10 innings at Milwaukee. A sacrifice fly by Endy Chavez scores Daniel Murphy with the winning run. Jonathon Niese becomes the first Met pitcher ever to give up a home run to his first major league batter when the Brewers' Rickie Weeks hits one to lead off the bottom of the first inning.

2011: The Mets hit three home runs in a 7-3 win over the Nationals at Washington.

2012: The Mets defeat the Marlins, 5-1, to complete a sweep of a three-game series in Miami.

2014: The Mets collect sixteen hits in an 8-6 win over the Marlins at Miami.

2015: The Mets hit three home runs in a 9-4 win over the Phillies at Citi Field.
