1969: The Mets defeat the Orioles, 5-0, in the first World Series game at Shea Stadium. The win gives the Mets a 2-1 Series lead. Gary Gentry gets the win and Nolan Ryan earns the save in the only Series game for both pitchers. Tommie Agee and Ed Kranepool hit home runs.

1973: The Mets win Game 2 of the World Series, 10-7, in 12 innings at Oakland.

1986: The Mets defeat the Astros, 2-1, in Game 5 of the National League Championship Series at Shea Stadium. Gary Carter's 12th inning single scores Wally Backman with the winning run.
