Galvis doubled against New York's Carlos Torres to open the bottom half. Ruf grounded out to first baseman Duda and a walk to pinch-hitter Grady Sizemore against the Mets' Alex Torres ensued. Hernandez drew a walk that loaded the bases. New York's' Buddy Carlyle then got Ruiz to hit a ground ball to shortstop Tejada for an inning-ending double play.

Garcia set down all three batters in the top of the ninth. Mets' reliever Jeurys Familia struck out Odubel Herrera to start the bottom half.
