1964: The Mets and Cardinals play in the first doubleheader at Shea Stadium. The Mets win first game, 4-1. St. Louis wins the second, 10-1.

1971: Dave Marshall hits a grand slam in the Mets' 8-1 win over the Astros at Shea Stadium.

1972: Tom Seaver wins his 100th career game as the Mets defeat the Dodgers, 2-1, at Shea Stadium. The Mets also trade pitcher Charlie Williams to the San Francisco Giants for Willie Mays.

1974: Craig Swan records his first major league win in the Mets' 6-3 victory over the Cubs at Chicago. Swan singles three times and scores a run in the game.

1975: The Mets defeat the Reds, 3-2, at Shea Stadium to end a six-game losing streak.

1979: Kevin Kobel and Skip Lockwood combine for a shutout in a 4-0 Mets win over the Padres at San Diego.

1982: Charlie Puleo pitches his first career shutout in a 6-0 Mets win over the Padres at Shea Stadium.

1983: Tom Seaver pitches his last shutout as a Met in a 3-0 win over the Astros at Houston.

1984: Dwight Gooden pitches his first complete game and shutout in the Mets' 2-0 win over the Dodgers at Los Angeles.

1985: Sid Fernandez and Roger McDowell pitch a combined one-hit shutout in the Mets' 4-0 win over the Phillies.

1987: The Mets trade Ricky Nelson to the Cleveland Indians for Don Schulze.

1988: The Mets come from behind twice and emerge with a 9-8 win over the Astros in 10 innings at Houston.

1991: The Mets break open a tie game with nine hits in the last three innings and defeat the Giants, 6-2, at San Francisco.

1995: Rico Brogna and Joe Orsulak combine for five runs produced in a 5-3 Mets win over the Braves at Shea Stadium.

1996: Rico Brogna hits two home runs, the second of which comes in the ninth inning to give the Mets a 7-6 win over the Cubs at Shea Stadium.

2000: In their final game ever at Pittsburgh's Three Rivers Stadium, the Mets record a 3-2 win over the Pirates.

2002: The Mets defeat the Rockies, 4-3, at Shea Stadium. A three-run homer by Joe McEwing puts the Mets ahead to stay.

2003: Graeme Lloyd records his only win as a Met in the team's 3-2 victory over the Padres at Shea Stadium.

2008: The Mets collect fourteen hits (seven for extra bases) in an 8-3 win over the Reds at Shea Stadium.

2014: The Mets score three runs in the ninth inning to tie and emerge with a 5-4 win over the Phillies in 11 innings at Citi Field.
