1970: Tom Seaver pitches a complete game and Donn Clendenon hits a two-run single in a 2-1 Mets win over the Padres at San Diego.

1972: Bud Harrelson hits a rare home run in a 7-4 Mets win over the Giants at San Francisco. Tom Seaver and Tug McGraw combine for fifteen strikeouts in the game.

1977: The Mets complete a three-game series sweep with an 8-2 win over the Padres at San Diego.

1984: Dwight Gooden strikes out ten batters in seven innings in an 8-1 Mets victory over the Cubs. It is Gooden's first win at Shea Stadium.

1987: Tim Teufel hits a pinch-hit home run in the ninth inning to give the Mets a 7-6 win over the Expos at Shea Stadium.

1988: The Mets hit three consecutive home runs in the fifth inning in an 11-0 win over the Reds at Cincinnati.

1992: Daryl Boston hits a home run in the eighth inning to give the Mets an 8-7 win over the Braves at Atlanta.

1994: The Mets slug four home runs in a 7-4 win over the Dodgers at Shea Stadium.

1996: At Shea Stadium, the Mets split a doubleheader with the Expos. Montreal wins the first game, 4-0, and the Mets take the nightcap, 6-0.

1999: The Mets collect twelve hits in a 9-4 win over the Giants at Shea Stadium.

2001: The Mets score five runs in the seventh inning for a 7-5 win over the Astros at Shea Stadium. Tom Martin records his only win as a Met.

2005: The Mets score three runs in the ninth inning for a 6-3 win over the Nationals. It is the Mets' first regular season victory ever in Washington.

2006: The Mets score a run in the ninth inning and defeat the Nationals, 2-1, at Shea Stadium.

2009: The Mets score five runs in the first three innings in a 7-4 win over the Phillies at Philadelphia.

2011: The Mets defeat the Phillies, 2-1, in 14 innings at Philadelphia. During the top of the ninth, the crowd chants "USA!" after learning of the death of Osama Bin Laden.

2013: The Mets break a six-game losing streak with a 7-6 win over the Marlins at Miami.

2015: Matt Harvey and two relievers team up for a shutout in a 4-0 Mets win over the Nationals at Citi Field.
