Received: Brian Rose

The Mets made a deal with the Rockies during Spring Training in 2001. Pitcher Mark Leiter was sent to Colorado for pitcher Brian Rose. Leiter was a ten-year major leaguer who had been signed by the Mets in January. Rose had a 15-20 won-lost record with the Red Sox and Rockies over the previous four seasons.

Rose pitched in three games for the Mets in 2001. He had a 4.15 earned run average and lost his only decision with the team. Brian was claimed on waivers by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays on April 24.

Leiter never got into a game with the Rockies. At the beginning of the 2001 season, he was dealt to the Brewers in a six-player trade. Mark finished his career with the Milwaukee team in '01.
