The Mets and Brewers got together on a trade in the winter of 2000. Infielder Luis Lopez was sent to Milwaukee in exchange for pitcher Bill Pulsipher. Lopez had a .250 batting average as a utility player for the Mets over the previous three seasons. Pulsipher, who was a prime prospect in the Mets' system a few years earlier, pitched in 30 games for the Brewers in 1998 and 1999.

Pulsipher pitched two games for the Mets in the 2000 season. He allowed 9 runs and 12 hits and was tagged with the loss in each game. Bill was traded to the Diamondbacks on June 2.

In 2000 and 2001, Lopez collected 113 hits in 160 games for the Brewers. Luis was released by the Milwaukee team during the 2002 season.
