Sent: Lastings Milledge
Received: Ryan Church, Brian Schneider

Following the Mets' failure to win the division title in 2007, catcher Paul Lo Duca and outfielder Shawn Green played out their contracts and moved on to other teams. In need to fill their positions, the team acquired Brian Schneider and Ryan Church from the Washington Nationals. Outfielder Lastings Milledge was sent to the nation's capital in exchange for the two players.

The highly-touted Milledge did not live up to expectations as a Met. He hit .257 with 11 home runs and 51 RBIs over two seasons with the team. Schneider had 586 hits in 757 games over eight years with the Expos/Nationals. Church was a four-year major leaguer who had 15 homers and 70 RBIs in 2007.

Schneider was the Mets' catcher for 166 games with the team. He had a .244 batting average and 180 total bases in his two seasons in New York. Brian joined the Phillies as a free agent after the 2009 season.

Church hit .278 in two seasons as a Met. He played in 157 games and hit 14 homers with 71 RBIs. Ryan was traded to the Braves during the '09 season.

Milledge played in 145 games for the Nationals in 2008 and 2009. He had 14 home runs among his 144 hits and drove in 62 runs for the Washington team. In '09, Lastings was dealt to the Pirates.
