Justin Turner is an infielder for the Mets. He joined the team on waivers from the Baltimore Orioles on May 25, 2010. Over the remainder of the ’10 season, Turner appeared in four games with the Mets. On July 18, he doubled and scored a run in a 4-3 Mets win at San Francisco in 10 innings.
In 2011, Turner collected 113 hits for 155 total bases. He had 30 doubles and drove in 51 runs on the season. At Citi Field on May 7, Justin had a two-run single in the eighth inning that gave the Mets a 4-2 win over the Dodgers. He hit a two-run double and a three-run homer in a 7-4 Mets victory at Houston on May 15. Turner had a single, two doubles and an RBI in the Mets’ 2-1 triumph over the Yankees on May 20. He was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the 13th inning to drive in the winning run for a 3-2 Mets victory over the Athletics on June 22 at Citi Field. From July 19 to July 29, Justin had a 10-game hitting streak in which he went 15-for-45 (.333) and scored nine runs. He homered twice and drove in four runs in an 11-7 Mets win over the Braves at Citi Field on August 6. Turner hit a run-scoring single that put the Mets ahead to stay in a 2-1 victory over the Marlins in a doubleheader opener on August 29 at Citi Field. He had three singles and an RBI in the Mets’ 7-4 triumph at Florida in 12 innings on September 6. Justin also hit a game-winning double in the ninth inning to give the Mets a 5-4 victory over the Cubs on September 9 at Citi Field.
