The Mets faced the Diamondbacks on a Sunday afternoon in Arizona. The teams played the finale of a four-game series. The Mets pounded out four home runs in a 6-3 win over the D'Backs.

Leading off the top of the first inning, Curtis Granderson homered for a quick 1-0 Mets lead. Diamondbacks' starter Josh Collmenter retired the next three batters and Ender Inciarte doubled against New York's Jacob deGrom to begin the bottom half. A. J. Pollock singled to advance Inciarte to third base. Paul Goldschmidt reached on third baseman Eric Campbell's error to drive home Inciarte and send Pollock to third. David Peralta followed with a sacrifice fly that scored Pollock and put the D'Backs ahead, 2-1. DeGrom then struck out Jake Lamb and Chris Owings to finish off the inning.

Juan Lagares hit a ground-rule double with one out in the top of the second. Campbell connected for a two-run homer to give the Mets a 3-2 lead. Kevin Plawecki singled and DeGrom grounded to first baseman Goldschmidt for an inning-ending double play. Jacob struck out the side in order in the bottom half and Collmenter pitched a perfect top of the third. DeGrom then surrendered only a walk to Goldschmidt in the bottom of the innng.

The Mets failed to score after loading the bases in the top of the fourth. DeGrom set down all three batters in the bottom half and Granderson slugged his second homer of the game to begin the top of the fifth. Ruben Tejada flied out to center fielder Pollock and a foul pop-up by Lucas Duda was caught by catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia. Collmenter fanned Michael Cuddyer to close out the inning and drew a walk with one out in the bottom half. DeGrom then got Inciarte to hit a ground ball to shortstop Wilmer Flores for a double play that ended the inning.

To begin the top of the sixth, Flores hit a home run to increase the Mets' lead to 5-2. Lagares singled and Campbell grounded to shortstop Nick Ahmed for a double play. Collmenter retired Plawecki on a line drive to left fielder Peralta for the inning's third out and Goldschmidt got a one-out single in the bottom half. Peralta singled and Lamb followed with a force play grounder back to deGrom. Owings got a bunt single that brought home Goldschmidt with the Snakes' third run of the game. DeGrom then retired Saltalamacchia on a ground ball to first baseman Duda to end the inning.

Arizona reliever Oliver Perez set down the side in order in the top of the seventh. DeGrom gave up just a walk to pinch-hitter Aaron Hill in the bottom half and the Diamondbacks' David Hernandez pitched a scoreless top of the eighth. The Mets' Hansel Robles hurled a perfect bottom of the inning and Campbell singled against the Snakes' J. C. Ramirez to open the top of the ninth. Eric stole second base and Plawecki was struck out. Campbell stole third and scored the sixth New York run on pinch-hitter Darrell Ceciliani's single. Ceciliani stole second and went to third on Granderson's ground out to Goldschmidt. Tejada walked and stole second and an intentional walk to Duda loaded the bases. Ramirez then retired Cuddyer on a fly ball to Pollock for the third out of the inning.

Mets' reliever Jeurys Familia got Owings on a line drive to center fielder Lagares to start the bottom of the ninth. Saltalamacchia grounded out to Flores. Familia then got Ahmed to ground out to Campbell and bring the game to an end. The Mets had a victory to conclude the weekend series.
