Enright’s sacrifice bunt moved Ojeda to second base and a walk to Chris Young followed. Kelly Johnson singled to load the bases and Justin Upton hit a sacrifice fly to drive home Ojeda. Takahashi retired Adam LaRoche on a ground ball to second baseman Luis Castillo that ended the inning and Angel Pagan hit a ground-rule double with two outs in the bottom half. David Wright singled to score Pagan and tie the game at 1-1. Enright then got Carlos Beltran to ground out to first baseman LaRoche and finish off the inning.

Takahashi recorded two strikeouts in a perfect top of the fourth. Enright set down the Mets in order in the bottom half and Hisanori struck out the side in a scoreless top of the fifth. Castillo walked to open the bottom of the inning. Luis advanced to second base on Takahashi’s sacrifice bunt and came home on Jose Reyes’ single for a 2-1 Mets lead. Pagan went down on strikes and Wright was retired on an inning-ending fly ball to right fielder Upton. Takahashi chalked up his tenth strikeout of the game in pitching a scoreless top of the sixth. Enright then surrendered only a walk to Ike Davis in the bottom half.

Pinch-hitter Tony Abreu doubled against Mets’ reliever Bobby Parnell to lead off the top of the seventh. Young hit a single and Johnson walked to load the bases. Upton singled to score Abreu and Young for a 3-2 Arizona lead and Parnell was replaced on the mound by New York’s Pedro Feliciano. LaRoche reached on a fielder’s choice grounder to bring home Johnson from third with the Snakes’ fourth run of the game. Miguel Montero followed with a double play ground ball to Castillo. Mets’ reliever Manny Acosta then threw a called third strike past Mark Reynolds for the inning’s final out.

Reyes drew a two-out walk against Diamondbacks’ reliever D. J. Carrasco in the bottom of the seventh. Pagan followed with a single to advance Reyes to third base. Wright hit a double to drive home Reyes and Pagan, tying the game at 4-4. Beltran was given an intentional walk and Arizona’s Jordan Norberto threw a called third strike past Davis to close out the inning. Acosta pitched a perfect top of the eighth. For the D’Backs, reliever Sam Demel set down the side in order in the bottom half.

Mets’ reliever Francisco Rodriguez retired all three batters in the top of the ninth. Jesus Feliciano tripled against Arizona’s Juan Gutierrez to lead off the bottom of the inning. Reyes was retired on a fly ball to Upton and intentional walks to Pagan and Wright loaded the bases. Beltran followed with a sacrifice fly to score Jesus Feliciano and bring the game to an end. The Mets had a comeback victory.
