The Mets faced the Dodgers on a Sunday afternoon at Citi Field. The teams played the finale of a four-game series. Juan Uribe hit a run-scoring single in the 10th inning for a 3-2 Mets win over Los Angeles.

Jacob deGrom and the Dodgers' Zack Greinke each started the game with two perfect innings pitched. DeGrom gave up only a single to Greinke in the top of the third and Kirk Nieuwenhuis was hit by a pitch to begin the bottom half. Kevin Plawecki hit a single on which Nieuwenhuis advanced to third base via an error by center fielder Joc Pederson. DeGrom reached on a fielder's choice ground ball to drive home Nieuwenhuis for a 1-0 Mets lead. Curtis Granderson lined out to right fielder Yasiel Puig. Greinke retired Ruben Tejada on a fly ball to left fielder Andre Ethier, who then threw to second baseman Howie Kendrick for an out on Plawecki and an inning-ending double play.

After scoreless fourth and fifth innings, deGrom set down the side in order in the top of the sixth. Granderson got a single to lead off the bottom half. Curtis stole second base and moved to third on Tejeda's sacrifice bunt. Daniel Murphy was walked intentionally and Kelly Johnson hit a ground ball on which first baseman Adrian Gonzalez threw to catcher Yasmani Grandal for an out at home on Granderson. Lucas Duda drew a walk to load the bases and Michael Conforto was hit by a pitch to force home Murphy. Greinke then got Nieuwenhuis on a grounder to shortstop Jimmy Rollins to close out the inning.

DeGrom shut down the Dodgers again in the top of the seventh. Greinke hurled a scoreless bottom half and Jacob combined with Mets' reliever Jeurys Familia for a scoreless top of the eighth. Los Angeles's J. P. Howell retired all three batters in the bottom of the inning and Gonzalez got a one-out double in the top of the ninth. Justin Turner doubled to score Gonzalez and reduce the Mets' lead to 2-1. Grandal followed with a single to drive home pinch-runner Carl Crawford, tying the game. Familia threw a called third strike past Puig and retired Ethier on a grounder to shortstop Tejada to finish off the inning. Howell then hurled a scoreless bottom half to send the game onward.

Mets' reliever Jenrry Mejia pitched a scoreless top of the 10th. Granderson doubled against the Dodgers' Juan Nicasio to open the bottom of the inning. Tejada was retired on a bunt attempt and an intentional walk to Murphy ensued. Against Los Angeles reliever Kenley Jansen, Uribe delivered a long single to center field that brought home Granderson and ended the game. The Mets had a thrilling extra-inning victory.
