Harvey retired the side in order in the top of the sixth. Leading off the bottom half, Ruben Tejada homered against Corbin for the Mets' fourth run of the game. Diamondbacks' reliever Randall Delgado set down three of the next four hitters to end the inning and Cliff Pennington got a leadoff single in the top of the seventh. Harvey retired Aaron Hill on a fly ball to right fielder Mayberry and got Pollock to hit a grounder to Flores for an inning-ending double play. Delgado and the Snakes' Oliver Perez then combined to pitch a perfect bottom half.

Mets' reliever Bobby Parnell hurled a scoreless top of the eighth. Arizona's Enrique Burgos set down all three batters in the bottom of the inning and New York's Jeurys Familia got Lamb on a grounder back to the mound to begin the top of the ninth. Welington Castillo grounded out to third baseman Campbell. Familia then struck out pinch-hitter Jarrod Saltalamacchia to end the game. The Mets had a victory in which Harvey provided his own clutch slugging.
