The Mets and Braves made a trade in July of 1965. Catcher Jesse Gonder went to the Milwaukee team in exchange for outfielder Gary Kolb. Gonder had a .271 batting average with 14 home runs in 226 games as a Met. Kolb was in his fifth major league season.

Kolb played in 40 games for the Mets in '65. He had 15 hits in 40 games played with the team. Gary spent the 1966 season with the Mets' AAA-level team in Jacksonville. He was then dealt to the Pirates.

Gonder hit .151 in 31 games for the Braves in their final year in Milwaukee. He was taken by the Pirates in the Rule 5 Draft after the '65 season.
