1962: Frank Thomas and Felix Mantilla hit two-run homers in the fifth inning of a 5-2 Mets win over the Giants at San Francisco.

1963: Duke Carmel hits a tie-breaking home run in the eighth inning for a 3-2 Mets win over the Cardinals at the Polo Grounds.

1967: Bob Johnson hits a home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the Mets a 3-2 win over the Braves at Shea Stadium.

1970: The Mets pound out 17 hits in a 12-9 victory over the Pirates. The win is the Mets' first ever at Pittsburgh's Three Rivers Stadium.

1973: Jon Matlack pitches a two-hit shutout in a 1-0 Mets win over the Dodgers at Los Angeles.
