Wilmer Flores followed with a single against Phils’ reliever Justin De Fratus. Recker connected for a three-run homer to put the Mets ahead, 5-2. Niese grounded out to Blanco and a fly ball by Curtis Granderson was caught by center fielder Ben Revere. Murphy singled and De Fratus retired Wright on a ground ball to shortstop Jimmy Rollins for the inning’s final out.
Niese retired both Blanco and Asche on fly balls to center fielder Lagares to begin the bottom of the seventh. Pinch-hitter Domonic Brown hit a double to right field.
