1962: In the first game of the Mets' first doubleheader ever, Al Jackson pitches the first shutout in franchise history. The Mets defeat the Phillies, 8-0, at the Polo Grounds.

1963: The Mets score three runs in the seventh inning for a 4-2 win over the Dodgers at the Polo Grounds.

1966: The Mets score four runs in the 11th inning and defeat the Pirates, 5-2, at Pittsburgh.

1969: In the Mets' first game ever outside the United States, Ed Kranepool hits a pair of home runs in the team's 2-0 win over the Expos at Montreal.

1971: Nolan Ryan and Danny Frisella combine for a shutout in a 7-0 Mets win over the Cardinals at St. Louis. The victory completes a four-game series sweep.

1973: Jerry Koosman pitches a four-hit shutout in a 1-0 Mets win over the Braves in Atlanta.

1975: The Mets score eight runs in the first and second innings in a 9-1 win over the Cubs at Chicago.

1976: The Mets complete a four-game series sweep with a 2-0 win over the Braves at Shea Stadium.

1977: Dave Kingman hits two three-run homers in a 9-2 Mets win over the Padres at San Diego.

1979: The Mets and Dodgers split a doubleheader at Shea Stadium. Los Angeles wins the opener, 8-3, and the Mets take the second game, 6-3.

1983: The Mets hit three homers in a 6-5 win over the Braves at Shea Stadium.

1984: The Mets defeat the Phillies, 6-2, at Shea Stadium. The loss in pinned on Jerry Koosman in his first game at Shea as a visiting pitcher. Before the game, Darryl Strawberry receives his Rookie of the Year award as all fans are treated to a free strawberry sundae.

1986: The Mets defeat the Braves, 10-5, in Atlanta. Runs are scored in each of the first eight innings of the game.

1987: The Mets defeat the Astros, 2-1, at Shea Stadium. Keith Hernandez drives in both New York runs with a homer and a single.

1988: Keith Hernandez singles home the winning run in the ninth inning for a 5-4 Mets victory over the Reds at Cincinnati.

1989: The Mets defeat the Astros, 5-1, at Houston. The win is the 500th for Davey Johnson as manager of the team.

1992: Bret Saberhagen pitches a three-hit shutout in a 1-0 Mets win over the Astros at Shea Stadium.

1994: The Mets score three runs in the eighth inning for a 6-4 win over the Dodgers at Shea Stadium.

1995: Joe Orsulak's run-scoring single in the 11th inning gives the Mets a 5-4 win over the Cardinals at Shea Stadium.

1996: The Mets defeat the Expos, 3-2, at Shea Stadium. Reliever John Franco becomes the first lefthander ever to record 300 career saves.

1997: The Mets complete a two-game series sweep with a 3-1 win over the Reds at Cincinnati.

1999: Limited to only six hits, the Mets come away with an 8-5 win over the Padres at Shea Stadium. Five of the Mets' hits drive in runs.

2000: The Mets collect twenty-three hits in a 13-6 win over the Rockies at Colorado.

2004: The Mets collect ten hits in a 6-1 win over the Dodgers at Los Angeles.

2006: Paul Lo Duca homers for the only run of a 1-0 Mets win over the Braves in Atlanta.

2007: Carlos Beltran homers for the only run of a 1-0 Mets win over the Nationals at Washington.

2008: David Wright's RBI single in the 11th inning gives the Mets a 5-4 win over the Pirates at Shea Stadium.

2012: The Mets collect eighteen hits in a 6-5 win over the Rockies in 11 innings at Colorado.

2014: Jonathon Niese pitches seven innings for the win in a 6-1 Mets victory over the Phillies at Philadelphia.
