1962: The Mets hit five home runs in defeating the Phillies, 8-6, at the Polo Grounds. It is the Mets' first win ever of a home game.

1968: Jerry Koosman picks up his fourth straight win to start the season in a 6-5 Mets victory over the Reds at Cincinnati.

1970: Dave Marshall hits a grand slam in his first at bat against his former Giants team in the Mets' 5-2 win at San Francisco.

1971: The Mets collect twelve hits in a 9-1 win over the Cardinals at St. Louis.

1972: Jon Matlack chalks up his first win as a starting pitcher in a 6-1 Mets victory over the Dodgers at Los Angeles.

1973: The Mets score three runs in the eighth inning and defeat the Braves, 4-2, at Atlanta.

1974: The Mets sweep the Giants in a doubleheader, 6-0 and 6-4, at San Francisco. In Game 1, Jon Matlack pitches a four-hit shutout and Dave Schneck hits two 2-run homers.

1976: Craig Swan pitches a shutout and Dave Kingman hits a three-run homer in a 3-0 Mets win over the Braves at Shea Stadium.

1982: The Mets defeat the Padres, 5-4, in 15 innings at San Diego.

1984: Ross Jones hits a game-winning double in the ninth inning to give the Mets a 4-3 victory over the Phillies at Shea Stadium. It is Jones' only hit and RBI as a Met.

1985: The Mets defeat the Pirates, 5-4, in an 18-inning game at Shea Stadium.

1989: Keith Hernandez and Kevin McReynolds combine for six RBIs in a 7-3 Mets win over the Astros at Houston.

1992: David Cone hurls a two-hit shutout and Eddie Murray drives in all the Mets' runs in a 4-0 win over the Astros at Shea Stadium.

1995: The Mets come from behind for a 10-8 win over the Cardinals at Shea Stadium. The game is the team's first home opener of a season ever played at night.

1996: John Franco records his 299th career save in a 7-5 Mets win over the Pirates at Pittsburgh.

1997: The Mets get 17 hits in a 15-2 win over the Reds at Cincinnati.

1999: Mike Piazza hits a two-run homer in the ninth inning to give the Mets a 4-3 win over the Padres at Shea Stadium.

2001: At St. Louis, the Mets score three runs in the ninth inning to tie the game. They go on to defeat the Cardinals, 6-5, in the 11th.

2002: The Mets come from behind for a 9-6 win over the Brewers at Shea Stadium. The win completes a three-game series sweep.

2006: David Wright hits two home runs in a 5-2 Mets win over the Braves in Atlanta.

2007: The Mets score four runs in the 12th inning for a 6-2 win over the Nationals at Washington.

2010: The Mets defeat the Dodgers, 7-3, to complete a three-game series sweep at Citi Field.

2012: Lucas Duda and David Wright combine for six RBIs in a 7-5 Mets win over the Rockies at Colorado.
