The Mets faced the Braves on a Wednesday night at Citi Field. The teams played the second of three games in a series. The Mets scored runs in the seventh and eighth innings for a 3-2 win over Atlanta.

Mets' starter Dillon Gee pitched a perfect top of the first. The Braves' Eric Stults gave up just a triple to John Mayberry in the bottom half and A. J. Pierzynski doubled with one out in the top of the second. Kelly Johnson grounded out to third baseman Eric Campbell and a single by Andrelton Simmons drove home Pierzynski. On his own hit, Simmons moved to second base via a throw. Jace Peterson was walked intentionally and Gee threw a called third strike past Stults to end the inning.

Campbell got a leadoff double in the bottom of the second. Eric advanced to third base after Kevin Plawecki's line out to right fielder Nick Markakis and scored the tying run on Wilmer Flores's single. Ruben Tejada reached on second baseman Peterson's error and Gee hit a force play ground ball to third baseman Alberto Callaspo. Mayberry went down on strikes to close out the inning and Gee yielded just a single to Callaspo in the top of the third. Stults then set down the side in order in the bottom half.

Gee shut down the Braves in the top of the fourth. Stults hurled a perfect bottom of the inning and Eric Young hit a triple with one out in the top of the fifth. Callaspo followed with a sacrifice fly to score Young for a 2-1 Atlanta lead. Markakis singled and Gee retired Freddie Freeman on an inning-ending line drive to left fielder Michael Cuddyer. Stults then retired the Mets 1-2-3 in the bottom half.

Gee pitched a scoreless top of the sixth. Stults gave up only a single to Lucas Duda in the bottom of the inning and Dillon set down all three Braves batters in the top of the seventh. Against Atlanta reliever Cody Martin, Flores slugged a game-tying home run with one out in the bottom half. Martin retired Tejada on a fly ball to left fielder Kelly Johnson and struck out pinch-hitter Daniel Murphy to finish off the inning. Freeman and Pierzynski drew back-to-back walks against the Mets' Sean Gilmartin in the top of the eighth. New York's Buddy Carlyle then got pinch-hitter Jonny Gomes on a pop-up to Campbell for the inning's final out.

Pinch-hitter Curtis Granderson drew a walk against Braves' reliever Jim Johnson to lead off the bottom of the eighth. Juan Lagares singled and Duda hit a single that scored Granderson, putting the Mets ahead by a run. Cuddyer grounded to Callaspo for a double play and Campbell walked. A wild pitch sent Campbell to second and Plawecki drew a walk to load the bases. Atlanta's Brandon Cunniff then got Flores on a force play ground ball to shortstop Simmons to close out the inning.

Simmons grounded out to Mets' reliever Jeurys Familia to begin the top of the ninth. Peterson was retired on a grounder to shortstop Flores. Familia then struck out pinch-hitter Chris Johnson to bring the game to an end. The Mets had their tenth consecutive victory.
