1964: The Pirates defeat the Mets, 4-3, in the first game ever at Shea Stadium.

1966: The Mets defeat the Atlanta Braves, 5-4, at Shea Stadium. A bases-loaded walk to Ron Swoboda drives home the winning run. The win gives the Mets a 2-1 record on the season, putting them over .500 for the first time ever.

1967: Don Cardwell hits a home run and records the win in a 9-6 Mets victory over the Pirates. It is Cardwell's first game in Pittsburgh after being traded by the Bucs.

1968: Jerry Koosman shuts out the Giants, 3-0, at Shea Stadium. It is the Mets first win ever in a home opener.

1970: Bud Harrelson hits a home run in a 6-0 Mets win over the Phillies. The homer is Harrelson's only one ever at Shea Stadium.

1975: Rick Baldwin records his first major league win in the Mets' 14-7 victory over the Cardinals at St. Louis.

1976: The Mets pound out 21 hits in a 17-1 win over the Pirates at Pittsburgh.

1978: Doug Flynn hits two run-scoring singles to lift the Mets to a 6-2 win over the Cardinals at St. Louis.

1982: Charlie Puleo records his first major league win in a 2-1 Mets victory over the Expos at Shea Stadium.

1985: The Mets collect thirteen hits in a 10-6 win over the Pirates at Pittsburgh. Rafael Santana hits his only home run of the season.

1988: The Mets come from behind for a 3-2 victory over the Cardinals at Shea Stadium. A run-scoring single by Kevin Elster in the ninth inning wins it for the Mets.

1989: The Mets defeat the Phillies, 5-2, at Shea Stadium. Darryl Strawberry, Kevin McReynolds and Keith Hernandez hit three consecutive home runs in the third inning.

1992: The Mets hit five run-producing doubles in a 10-2 win over the Expos at Montreal.

1993: The Mets defeat the Reds, 4-1, at Cincinnati. Charlie O'Brien hits a two-run single and records the only stolen base of his career.

1994: Jeff Kent hits two home runs in the Mets' 4-2 win over the Astros at Shea Stadium.

1999: Bobby Jones records his third straight win in a 3-2 Mets victory over the Expos at Shea Stadium.

2001: Glendon Rusch and Turk Wendell pitch a combined shutout in a 4-0 Mets win over the Expos at Shea Stadium.

2003: Jae Seo records his first major league win in a 7-2 Mets victory over the Pirates at Pittsburgh.

2006: Xavier Nady and Carlos Delgado combine for four RBIs in a 4-3 Mets win over the Braves at Shea Stadium.

2007: Moises Alou hits two home runs in the Mets' 8-1 win at Philadelphia.

2008: The Mets defeat the Nationals, 3-2, in 14 innings at Shea Stadium.

2009: Gary Sheffield hits his 500th career home run (his first hit as a Met) at Citi Field to tie the game. The Mets go on to defeat the Milwaukee Brewers, 6-5.

2010: The Mets win, 2-1, in 20 innings over the St. Louis Cardinals. It is the longest game won by the Mets in their history and the longest major league game in two years.

2015: The Mets defeat the Marlins, 4-1, at Citi Field. Daniel Muno gets his first major league hit in the game.
