1965: The Mets defeat the Astros, 5-4, on Bobby Klaus's home run in the 10th inning. The Mets also pull off a triple play in the game.

1969: Bud Harrelson and Ed Kranepool combine for five RBIs in a 6-3 Mets win over the Phillies at Philadelphia.

1972: The Mets defeat the Pirates, 4-0, on Opening Day at Shea Stadium. Tom Seaver and Tug McGraw combine for a five-hit shutout.

1973: John Milner hits a two-run homer and Harry Parker records his first win as a starting pitcher in a 2-1 Mets victory over the Phillies at Philadelphia.

1976: After trailing by five runs, the Mets come back for a 10-8 win over the Cubs at Chicago.

1981: In the 20th home opener in team history, the Mets defeat the Cardinals, 5-3, at Shea Stadium.
