1968: In his home state of Texas, Nolan Ryan gets his first career win as the Mets defeat the Astros, 4-0. Ryan pitches six and two-thirds innings with eight strikeouts in a combined shutout with Danny Frisella (who records his first major league save.)
1978: Tom Grieve homers in the ninth inning and Lenny Randle hits a run-scoring double in the 10th to give the Mets a 3-2 win over the Expos at Montreal.

2012: Jon Niese and two relievers team up for a six-hit shutout in a 5-0 Mets win over the Phillies at Philadelphia.
