Wilson Delgado

Wilson Delgado was a shortstop for the Mets in 2004. He batted .292 in 42 games with the team. Delgado scored 11 runs and had 50 total bases as a Met.
Delgado came to the Mets in a trade with the Cardinals at the beginning of the ’04 season. He spent time at AAA-level Norfolk before joining the parent club in August. Wilson singled three times and scored twice in the Mets’ 11-9 win in 12 innings at San Francisco on August 21. He had two doubles, a homer and drove in all the Mets’ runs in a 5-4 defeat to the Marlins on September 1 at Shea. Delgado hit a home run in the Mets’ 9-7 victory over the Braves in the first game of a doubleheader at Shea on September 13. He also had four singles in a 5-2 Mets loss in a doubleheader nightcap on September 28 at Atlanta.
Delgado signed with the Florida Marlins as a free agent after the ’04 season. In 2005, he played for the Marlins’ AAA-level affiliate in Albuquerque to conclude his career.
