Willie Blair was a pitcher for the Mets in 1998. He appeared in 11 games with the team. Blair had one win and 21 strikeouts as a Met.
In '98, Blair joined the Mets from the Diamondbacks during his ninth major league season. He pitched one and one-third innings of scoreless relief in a 5-4 Mets win in 10 innings at Los Angeles on August 28. Willie also had six strikeouts in seven and one-third innings of shutout ball to get the win in the Mets' 1-0 victory at Montreal on September 13.
Blair was traded to the Tigers after the '98 season. He pitched three seasons with the Detroit team to conclude his major league career.
