Wayne Kirby was an outfielder for Mets in 1998. He played in 26 games with the team. Kirby had six hits and five runs scored as a Met.
Kirby joined the Mets in a trade with the Cardinals during the '98 season. At Florida on June 14, he had two singles and a stolen base in a 5-4 Mets loss to the Marlins. Wayne hit a triple and scored a run in the Mets' 3-2 win over the Orioles on June 25 at Shea Stadium. He also had a run scored in a 5-2 Mets victory over the Expos at Shea on July 12.
Kirby played in the Padres' and Orioles' minor league systems in 1999 and 2000. He ended his career with the Solano Steelheads of the independent Western League in 2001.
