Victor Diaz was an outfielder for the Mets from 2004 to 2006. He played in 110 games with the team. Diaz had 89 hits for 161 total bases as a Met.

Diaz joined the Mets from their AAA-level team in Norfolk in September of ’04. He batted .294 in 15 game appearances over the rest of the season. At Shea Stadium on September 11, Victor got a two-run double for his first major league hit in the Mets’ 11-9 loss to the Phillies. He singled and hit his first major league home run in a 4-2 Mets win at Montreal on September 23. Two days later, Diaz hit a game-tying, three-run homer in the ninth inning of the Mets’ 4-3 victory over the Cubs in 11 at Shea. He also singled and scored a run in an 8-1 Mets win over the Expos in the season closer at Shea on October 3.

In 2005, Diaz had a total of 72 hits and 41 runs scored. He hit 12 home runs during the year. At Philadelphia on April 19, Victor had a pair of two-run homers in the Mets’ 16-4 triumph over the Phillies. He singled and doubled twice each and drove in three runs in a 10-5 Mets victory over the Nationals at Shea on April 23. Diaz hit a two-run homer in a 12-1 Mets win over the Giants in the second game of a doubleheader on June 5 at Shea. He had a single and two home runs in a 7-6 Mets loss at Los Angeles on August 12. Victor drove in a pair of runs with a homer and a sacrifice fly in the Mets’ 3-1 victory at Arizona on August 25. He also hit a three-run homer in a 7-2 Mets win at St. Louis on September 11.

Diaz collected two hits in six games for the Mets in 2006. On April 14, he had a single in the team’s 4-3 win over the Brewers at Shea. He also had a two-run double in a 9-3 Mets victory over the Brewers at Shea on April 16.

On August 30, 2006, Diaz was traded to the Rangers. He played in 37 games for the Texas team in 2007. Victor played in the minor leagues and in Japan over the next two seasons. In 2010, he joined the Veracruz team in the Mexican League.
