Vern Ruhle

Vern Ruhle was a coach for the Mets in 2003. He served as the team's pitching coach under manager Art Howe.
Ruhle pitched 13 seasons in the major leagues. Between 1974 to 1986, he had 67 wins and 11 saves with the Tigers, Astros, Indians and Angels. Vern was also the pitching coach for the Astros and Phillies from 1997 to 2002.
Following his lone season on the Mets' staff, Ruhle was the Reds' pitching coach for two seasons. He died on January 20, 2007.
