Tony Tarasco was an outfielder for the Mets in 2002. he played in 60 games with the team. Tarasco had 24 hits and 15 runs batted in as a Met.
Tarasco had played seven major league seasons before joining the Mets. In '02, he compiled 47 total bases. Tony hit a two-run homer in the Mets' 4-2 win over the Twins at Shea Stadium on June 19. He homered to drive in two runs in a 5-3 Mets victory at Florida on July 5. Tarasco had a single, a double and a run scored in the Mets' 5-2 win over the Expos at Shea on July 22. He also singled and scored in a 5-2 Mets victory at Colorado on August 24.
Tarasco retired from baseball after the '02 season.
