Tony Castillo

Tony Castillo was a pitcher for the Mets in 1991. He made three starts and seven relief appearances with the team. Castillo had one win and a 1.90 earned run average as a Met.
Castillo came to the Mets in a trade with the Braves on August 28, 1991. One day later, he relieved against his former team in a 2-0 Mets loss at Atlanta. Tony pitched six shutout innings and got the win in the Mets’ 4-1 victory at Chicago on September 11. He also had five and one-third innings pitched with three strikeouts in a 2-1 Mets win over the Pirates in the second game of a doubleheader on September 26 at Shea.
On January 22, 1992, Castillo was traded to the Detroit Tigers. He spent a year in the minor leagues and pitched for the Blue Jays from 1993 to 1996. Tony then pitched for the White Sox until the end of his career in 1998.
