Tony Armas, Jr. was a pitcher for the Mets in 2008. He appeared in three games with the team. Armas had one win and six strikeouts as a Met.
Armas joined the Mets after nine seasons in the major leagues. In his first game with the team on July 1, he pitched six innings and recorded the win in a 7-4 Mets victory at St. Louis. Tony pitched a perfect ninth inning to finish off the Mets’ 9-4 win at Philadelphia on July 5. He also pitched in a 10-9 Mets triumph at Philadelphia on July 7.
In 2009, Armas concluded his career in the Braves’ minor league system.
