Tom Paciorek played for the Mets in 1985. In 46 games with the team, he batted .284 while serving as a reserve outfielder and first baseman. Tom had 41 total bases as a Met.

In his 16th season as a major leaguer, Paciorek joined the Mets in a trade with the White Sox on July 16, 1985. He hit the first of three Met homers in the first inning off Jerry Koosman in a 10-7 win over the Phillies at Shea Stadium on August 15. Two days later, Tom hit a two-run triple in the seventh inning to break a tie and give the Mets an eventual 4-3 win at Pittsburgh. Paciorek also had a run-scoring double in the Mets' 5-1 win over the Padres on August 24 at Shea.

Following the '85 season, Paciorek was released by the Mets. He played two seasons with the Texas Rangers to conclude his career as a player. Tom went on to become a broadcaster for the White Sox, Braves, Tigers and Nationals.

Paciorek's son, Tom Jr., was an outfielder in the Mets' farm system in 1998.
