Tom Nieto

Tom Nieto was a coach for the Mets from 2005 to 2008. He served as a catching instructor during his time on the staff. Nieto was also a first base coach for the Mets.
From 1984 to 1990, Nieto was a catcher in the major leagues He collected 127 hits for the Cardinals, Expos, Twins and Phillies. Tom played in two games of the ’85 World Series for the Cards. During the 1990s and 2000s, he was a manager for A-level teams in the Reds’, Yankees’ and Cardinals’ organizations.
With Nieto on the staff, the Mets won a division title. He became the manager of the Twins’ AA-level team in New Britain, Connecticut on 2009. One year later, Tom became the skipper for the Twins’ AAA-level affiliate in Rochester.
