Toby Borland

Toby Borland was a pitcher for the Mets in 1997. He made 13 relief appearances for the team. Borland had seven strikeouts and one save as a Met.
Borland came to the Mets after three seasons with the Phillies. At Shea Stadium on April 15, he pitched four scoreless innings for a save in the Mets' 5-0 win over the Dodgers. Toby had three strikeouts in a perfect ninth inning in a 6-4 Mets loss to the Cubs on April 21 at Shea. He also had one scoreless inning pitched in an 8-2 Mets defeat at St. Louis on May 4.
On May 12, 1997, Borland was traded to the Red Sox. He completed the season with the Boston team and pitched for the Phils in 1998. Toby spent three years in the Angels' organization and pitched in two games with the Anaheim team in 2001. From 2002 to 2004, he pitched in 40 games for the Florida Marlins. Borland ended his career with the Cardinals' AAA-level team in Memphis in 2005.
