The Mets made a trade with the White Sox in March of 2004. Outfielder Timo Perez was sent to Chicago in exchange for pitcher Matt Ginter. Both players had spent four seasons with their teams. Perez batted .276 in 372 games as a Mets while Ginter had a 5.82 earned run average in 63 games pitched for the Sox.
Ginter appeared in 15 games with the Mets in the '04 season. He had a 1-3 won-lost record with 38 strikeouts and a 4.54 ERA. Matt was traded to the Tigers in April of 2005.
Perez spent two seasons with the White Sox. He played in 179 games and hit .235 with 7 homers and 55 runs batted in for the Chicago team. Timo joined the Reds as a free agent in 2006.
