The Mets and Padres made a swap of pitchers during Spring Training in 1992. The team sent Terry Bross to San Diego in exchange for Craig Bullock. A former basketball player at St. John's University, Bross had been in the Mets' minor league system for five years. He pitched in eight games for the Mets in 1991. Bullock was at the Single-A level.
Neither pitcher made an appearance for his new team. Bullock spent five years at the A and AA levels in the Mets' system. He never reached the major leagues. Bross pitched one season for the Padres' AAA-level team in Las Vegas and was dealt to the Texas Rangers.
