Terry Bross was a pitcher for the Mets in 1991. He appeared in 8 games and pitched a total of 10 innings for the team. Bross recorded 5 strikeouts as a Met.
Bross was a two-sport athlete at St. John's University. In addition to baseball, he was a member of the school's basketball team coached by Lou Carnesecca that reached the NCAA Final Four in 1985. Terry was selected by the Mets in the 13th round of the amateur draft in 1987.
On September 4, 1991, Bross made his major league debut at Shea Stadium. He pitched the last two innings of the Mets' 8-3 loss to the Astros. At Shea on September 7, Terry fanned the Braves' Keith Mitchell for his first career strikeout. He also struck out all three batters in the ninth inning against the Phillies on September 28 at Shea.
In March of 1992, Bross was traded to the Padres for pitcher Craig Bullock. He pitched in the minor leagues from 1992 to 1994 and again in 1999. Terry's only other major league experience was two games with the Giants in 1993.
