Ted Schreiber

Ted Schreiber was an infielder for the Mets in 1963. He had 8 hits and 2 runs batted in with the team. Schreiber played in a total of 39 Met games.

In '63, Schreiber got a single in his first major league game at Milwaukee on April 14. He singled and scored his only major league run against the Braves the next day. At Philadelphia on April 22, Ted drew a bases-loaded walk for his first RBI. He also had a run-scoring single at Los Angeles on August 18.

Against the Phillies on September 18, Schreiber hit into a game-ending double play in the Mets' 5-1 loss. This at bat gave Ted the distintion of being the last batter ever at the Polo Grounds. Over the rest of the season, Schreiber appeared in five more games for the Mets.

In 1964 and 1965, Schreiber played for the Mets' AAA-level Buffalo team. He ended his career with the Orioles' AAA team in Rochester in '65.
