Takashi Kashiwada

Takashi Kashiwada was a pitcher for the Mets in 1997. He made 35 relief appearances for the team. Kashiwada had three wins and 19 strikeouts as a Met.
Kashiwada joined the Mets after three seasons with the Yomiuri Giants in his native Japan. At Shea Stadium on May 18, he got his first major league win in the Mets' 10-4 victory over the Rockies. Takashi pitched a scoreless tenth inning for the win in a 12-9 Mets triumph over the Pirates on June 22 at Shea. He was also the winning pitcher in the Mets' 4-2 victory at San Diego on July 25.
Kashiwada returned to Japan after the '97 season. He pitched seven more seasons with the Yomiuri team to conclude his career.
