Steve Swisher

Steve Swisher was a coach for the Mets from 1994 to 1996. He served under managers Dallas Green and Bobby Valentine during his three years on the staff.

A former major league catcher, Swisher played for the Cubs, Cardinals and Padres from 1974 to 1982. He had 305 hits and 108 runs scored in 509 games. Between 1985 and 1988, Steve was a manager in the Indians' minor league system. He joined the Mets orgamization in the same role one year later. In 1992, Swisher managed the Mets' AA-level team to an Eastern League championship in its first year in Binghamton.

Following his time on the Mets' coaching staff, Swisher was the manager for the Astros' AAA-level team at New Orleans in 1997. He also managed the Phillies' AA-level team at Reading in 2005.
