Steve Springer

Steve Springer was an infielder for the Mets in 1992. He played in four games with the team. Springer had two hits in five at bats for a .400 batting average as a Met.
In ’92, Springer joined the Mets from their AAA-level Tidewater (Norfolk, Virginia) team in August. He made his debut with the team in a 4-3 loss to the Phillies at Shea Stadium on August 15. Steve’s only hits with the Mets were a single and a double in a 2-1 victory at San Francisco on August 25. This was his last game as a major leaguer.
Springer played for the Norfolk Tides (location name changed from Tidewater) in 1993. He then played two more seasons of minor and independent league baseball to conclude his career.
