Shingo Takatsu was a pitcher for the Mets in 2005. He made nine relief appearances for the team. Takatsu had one win and a 2.35 earned run average as a Met.

After spending two seasons with the White Sox, Takatsu came to the Mets as a free agent in ’05. In his first game with the team on September 3, he pitched one and one-third scoreless innings in a 5-4 Mets loss at Florida. Shingo had two strikeouts in a perfect sixth inning in the Mets’ 6-5 defeat to the Nationals in 10 innings on September 15 at Shea Stadium. He was also the winning pitcher in a 6-5 Mets victory at Philadelphia on September 26.

In 2006, Takatsu returned to his native Japan to continue his career. He pitched two seasons with the Yakult Swallows and one with the Woori Heroes of Korea. Shingo also pitched in Taiwan for the Sinon Bulls in 2010.
