Shawn Estes

Shawn Estes was a pitcher for the Mets in 2002. He made 23 starts for the team. Estes had four wins and 92 strikeouts as a Met.
Estes came to the Mets after seven seasons with the Giants. At Shea Stadium on April 26, he pitched a one-hit shutout for a 1-0 Mets win over the Brewers. Shawn pitched six innings and got the win in the Mets' 5-2 victory at San Diego on May 18. At Shea on June 15, he struck out 11 batters and hit a home run in recording the win in an 8-0 Mets triumph over the Yankees. Estes also pitched seven innings of shutout ball for the win in a 10-0 Mets victory over the Astros on July 31 at Shea.
On August 15, 2002, Estes was traded to the Reds. He completed the season with the Cincinnati team. Shawn also pitched for the Cubs, Rockies, Diamondbacks and Padres before the end of his career in 2008.
