Shane Halter was an outfielder for the Mets in 1999. He appeared in seven games for the team. Halter did not have an at bat as a Met.

Halter was acquired by the Mets from the Royals before the '99 season. He batted .274 in 127 games with the Mets' AAA-level team in Norfolk during the year. After being recalled in September, Shane served as a pinch-runner five times and played in the outfield twice. In the Mets' game against the Phillies at Shea Stadium on September 18, Halter played both center field and shortstop.

In 2000, Halter was put on waivers by the Mets. He was claimed by the Detroit Tigers.
