Sergio Ferrer
From The Met Wiki
Sergio Ferrer was an infielder for the Mets in 1978 and 1979. He played in 69 games in his two seasons with the team. Ferrer served as a second baseman, shortstop and third baseman.
Ferrer had seven hits as a Met in 1978. At Shea Stadium on May 18, he got his only stolen base of the year in the Mets' 8-7 win over the Braves. He hit a run-scoring triple in a 7-6 Mets victory over the Expos at Shea on September 14. This was Sergio's only run batted in as a member of the Mets.
In 1979, Ferrer was hitless in seven at bats on the season. Still, he scored seven runs, six of which were as a pinch-runner. On June 12, Sergio scored on a single by Richie Hebner in the Mets' 10-run sixth inning that led to a 12-6 win over the Reds at Shea. He also came home on Lee Mazzilli's game-tying, two-run single on September 15 at Pittsburgh. In his final major league game on September 28, Ferrer scored on a triple by Kelvin Chapman in the Mets' 7-6 victory in 11 innings at St. Louis.
