1989: Gregg Jefferies hits two doubles and two homers as the Mets defeat the Cardinals, 13-1, at Shea Stadium.
1992: The Mets defeat the Phillies, 6-3, on Labor Day in Philadelphia. The Phils get at least one hit in each of the nine innings, but leave twelve runners on base.
