1967: The Mets defeat the Astros, 1-0, on Tom Seaver's three-hit shutout at Shea Stadium. A single by Jerry Buchek in the ninth inning scores Bud Harrelson with the winning run. It is the second consecutive game that ends with a hit by Buchek for a Mets win.

1969: Bud Harrelson singles home the winning run in the 11th inning for a 3-2 Mets victory over the Cardinals at Shea Stadium. The triumph clinches a tie for the National League East Division title.

1987: Gary Carter singles four times and drives in three runs in the Mets' 4-3 win over the Expos at Shea Stadium.

1990: The Mets defeat the Cubs, 7-3, at Chicago's Wrigley Field. Darryl Strawberry hits his 252nd and final home run as a Met.

2003: The Mets end their second eight-game losing streak of the month with a 1-0 win over the Pirates at Shea Stadium.
