1969: The Mets lose both games of a doubleheader to the Pirates, 8-2 and 8-0. Bob Johnson pitches two-thirds of an inning for the Mets in his major league debut in the opener. In the nightcap, Jesse Hudson pitches the final two innings in his only major league appearance.
1981: Hubie Brooks and Dave Kingman hit home runs for a combined five RBIs in a 6-2 Mets win over the Cardinals at Shea Stadium.
1983: Hubie Brooks gets a tenth inning single to drive home the winning run in the Mets' 5-4 victory over the Pirates.
1992: The Mets score four runs in the eighth inning in a 7-5 win over the Expos at Shea Stadium.
2002: Roger Cedeno's run-scoring single in the 12th inning gives the Mets a 3-2 victory over the Cubs at Shea Stadium.
