1968: Jerry Koosman pitches his 7th shutout of the season with a 2-0 win over the Pirates at Shea Stadium. It is also the Mets' 67th with of the year, setting a new team high.

1980: Ed Lynch records his first win and Roy Lee Jackson notches hit first save as the Mets end a 13-game losing streak with a 4-2 victory over the Cubs at Shea Stadium.

1989: The Mets pound out 13 hits in a 10-4 win at Philadelphia. Dwight Gooden pitches three shutout innings in his first ever relief appearance. Bob Ojeda is the winning pitcher.

1997: Carl Everett hits a grand slam with two out in the ninth to cap a game-tying 6-run rally. Bernard Gilkey then hits a three-run homer in the eleventh to give the Mets a 9-6 win over the Expos at Shea Stadium.

2000: The Mets defeat the Brewers, 4-1, at Shea Stadium. Robin Ventura doubles home the tying run with two outs in the ninth and Jay Payton hits a three-run homer in the 10th.

2003: The Mets end an eight-game losing streak with a 5-4 win over the Expos at Montreal.
