Scott Strickland was a pitcher for the Mets in 2002 and 2003. He made 87 relief appearances for the team. Strickland had six wins and two saves as a Met.

Strickland came to the Mets in a trade with the Expos in '02. For the season, he recorded 67 strikeouts in 67 and two-thirds innings pitched. At Shea Stadium on April 15, Scott pitched a perfect 12th inning to pick up the win in a 7-6 Mets victory over the Braves. He had three strikeouts in one and two-thirds perfect innings for the win in the Mets' 7-6 triumph over the Cardinals on April 25 at Shea. Strickland struck out two batters in the ninth inning for a save in a 4-3 Mets triumph over the Rockies at Shea on May 11. He pitched two scoreless innings for the win in a 1-0 Mets victory at Philadelphia on May 23. At Shea one day later, Scott pitched a scoreless top of the 10th for a win in the Mets' 5-4 triumph over the Marlins. He pitched a scoreless ninth for a save in a 3-0 Mets win over the Florida team at Shea on May 26. Scott had one and two-thirds scoreless innings pitched to get the win in a 4-3 Mets victory over the Phillies on May 29 at Shea. He also had a perfect inning pitched in getting the win in a 5-4 Mets triumph over the Royals at Shea on June 23.

In '03, Strickland had 20 innings pitched for the Mets. He recorded 16 strikeouts and posted a 2.25 earned run average. At Shea on April 24, Scott pitched two scoreless innings in a 7-4 Mets win over the Astros. He made his final appearance with the team in a 4-2 victory over the Padres in 10 innings on May 10 at Shea. Strickland continued to pitch in the Mets' minor league system until 2005. He pitched five more seasons in pro ball before concluding his career with the Marlins.
